This site explains how to calculate in your head (in often less than one second) the day of the week for any calendar date. It also explains how to calculate the day, month or year when one of those other elements of a date is unknown but the day of the week is known. There is no faster or simpler formula out there.
V5 - Step 2
To go to the appropriate calendar to use for the target date in the selected year, find the month of the target date below, and then click on that month. However, if the target Year is a Leap Year (from one of the gray-shaded rows in the previous table) and the target month is January and February, click on the LY symbol directly beneath that month in the selected cell instead of the month itself.
